DS has been having some wind problems, on colief now and has been reasonably settled these past few days. Round about the same time I cut out citrus fruit and greens i.e brocolli, sprouts etc (I do love my veg!!) as all was going well last night I introduced some green veg with dinner; DS didn't have a great night and again today he's been grouchy. That's approx 12 hours - could it be the green veg??

My ds2 appears to have problems with cows milk protein, and I have been shocked at just how quickly it does seem to affect my milk. I had some cheese completely unthinkingly this weekend and the very next feed we had problems. Wiht my ds1, he reacted shockingly badly whenever I ate onions, and similarly it seemed to take a very short while for it to affect my milk. How old is he? My ds is very rarely sicky now I've adapted my diet, and is in fact ridiculously content most of the time, but he likes to be standing up more than anything else. We've just bought him a Jumperoo which we put him in for 5 or 10 minutes at a time and he adores it.

Babies can become grouchy unpredictably - far more likely than green veg travelling through your digestive system, into your blood stream and then into your milk......:)

In this country people blame 'wind' all the time and it's sensible IMO to be sceptical, very sceptical. Links with veg, fruit or anything else eaten/drunk by the bf mother are anecdotal - mostly, anyway :)

Cows milk protein is one of the very few things that does seem to affect a few babies and which has some logical explanation and some better evidence. But it's still unusual.

Fuckity DS is just over 3wks now...I hardly touch dairy (as in no milk or butter etc) but i've been having the odd slice of cheese to avoid starvation. Blimey I also love onions/garlic and eat them quite a bit...
Ticktok it would be great to know it wasn't the veg as I really miss it from my diet. The HV/breast feeding people said similar but when I mention wind pain etc to others they always say "oh its something you're eating"...so confusing.

I'll keep an eye on what I'm eating over the next few days and how he is.
Thanks
