making sure clothes are thrush free

My friend has given me a couple of nice feeding vests. However she had thrush when using them, which led her to give up breastfeeding. Is there any way I can make sure they are thrush free? So far I have soaked them in a mild bleach solution and washed them (I think at 50c).

Dry iron them thoroughly inside out.

When I had recurent thrush I was advised to milton my pants Blush - it worked (wondering if I should have name changed for this post....)

hang on the line if the sun is out, thrush doesn't like the sun.

I suffered with thrush terribly. The ironing was a major break through and line drying inside out so sun shines on inside. Really got rid of it.

Should I just chuck them - have been BF for nearly a year without thrush and now I am worrying.

Yes, just throw the flipping things out if you aren't going to bother with any of the good suggestions people have taken the time and trouble to post on this thread. Why did you even ask in the first place?

fallingandlaughing · 27/06/2012 18:11

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Not sure what to do because of the care instructions and because I have no way to hang them in the sun.

Thanks awfully Mintyy it is great when people understand possibly irrational worries, it took a lot for me to establish BF when DD was ill and I had to express constantly then wean her back on to the breast. so I don't want to risk it. [passive aggressive]
