bottle feeding

I breast feed DD and am completely at sea with bottle feeding. Next month DH will look after DD for a day while I am away. For various reasons he will not be in the house for the whole day. Normally, if DH had DD he would sterilise a bottle in the house shortly before he needed to use it. If he sterilised the bottle and teat before leaving the house would it matter that they would be out of the steriliser before they were used? The instructions say that once the steriliser is opened the contents are no longer sterile. TIA

I take them out of the steriliser and make the bottle up using the tweezer things that come with it, the inside is sealed and the teat covered with a sterile lid so all the bits that need to be sterile are. I have no idea if this is the official way to do it but that's what I do! Hth
