6mo won't take formula, what do I do? Try a different brand?

Any brands particularly successful with fussy breastfed babies? DD2 takes EBM from bottle no problem but refuses to take more than a mouthful or two of formula. Tips appreciated.

We've just started DD on a bottle of formula a day. Found that she will drink Aptimil that comes in a carton - am going to try with the powder when we increase the bottles. I think it is a little thinner in consistency than some others. Weirdly enough she seems to take it best from me at the moment, although i know this isn't often the case.

franch, I think a lot of people have said Aptamil seems to be more palatable than other brands. One MNer said she had to taste-test them and said that Aptamil and SMA Gold were sweeter and less chemical-tasting than cow and gate. Ds3 was not keen on formula at all.( In fact,he really wasn't keen on bottles either but we got over that!) I found that if we mixed a little formula with EBM and then gradually increased the amount of formula, eventually he got to like it.

Was using cow & gate chipmonkey - thanks to you both for the aptimil hint, will def try that, and SMA gold if that doesnt work. Mixing with EBM a v good idea too, thanks.

Just need to give DD2 the occasional bottle at the moment and don't seem to be able to express much what with running around after a 2yo and moving house

franch, maybe you need one of these

I can just see myself chasing DD1 around, pumping as I go

Found Aptamil worked with my dd eventually - did a taste test with some of the others and breast milk - felt like a cannibal! think that formula is just not sweet enough so I mixed half and half for a while then reduced the breast milk.

Probably wrong but it worked for me.

nope, sounds like a good approach. Thanks RRH
