My first baby is 11 weeks old and exclusively breastfed. I am trying to get the hang of expressing and giving her a bottle as there are a few upcoming events where we will be separated for a few hours. She currently feeds 2 to 3 hourly in the day. I usually express about 4-5 ish ounces (total from both boobs combined) altho the other day managed to get about 8oz out!

We have been using the Medela Calma teat as I hoped that would be more similar to BF than other teats. She will take the bottle but drains it really quickly and cries and is generally v unsettled after for about an hour. My DH then does his best to console her and I try to avoid sticking her on the boob. I don't know if I need to try a different teat or give her more milk or try winding her more during the feed (we did that last time but that too made her v angry as she was hungry and wanted the milk now!). Any advice gratefully received.

Have you seen this or this? They have lots of information about bottlefeeding a breastfed baby and how much milk to offer plus troubleshooting ideas.
