Anyone know of herbal stress relief that's ok for breastfeeders

Title says it all really.

Breastfeeding itself is going fine, but am finding life with 2 dc really stressful at times, especially as my 2 yo seems to know how to press my buttons! (6 week old hasn't figured out how to yet!)

Just want something that will help me be a little calmer (less shouty mum) & be able to see things a little clearer ( eg not loosing the plot over minor things)

Any help appreciated...

Chamommile tea?

Rescue remedy perhaps. Both safe. You can put the RR in water and sip it throughout the day.

I would think Rescue Remedy would be ok?

TheCountessOlenska · 19/06/2012 18:20

And when they're asleep, a nice glass of wine?

RR isn't homeopathy is it?

How much support are you getting?

Looked on rescue remedy website the other day & it said not to take whilst breastfeeding. Not sure why?
Wine...yes please but I wouldn't trust myself to just have a glass of an evening.
Not usually a herbal gal myself, but don't know what else I could use.

Thanks for input so far

Really? I always have and nothing has happened.

It's definitely safe, it's homeopathic so basically nothing in it. It's in alcohol but four drops in a glass/bottle of water aren't going to harm. I used it during labour too and my midwife was supportive :)

The actual bach website says this:

Is it safe to take the remedies if you are pregnant?
Yes, it is safe. The alcohol in the undiluted remedy can usually be ignored as the amount in a dose is so small. However, if you have any worries on this score we would always advise that you talk to your doctor or midwife.

It doesn't mention BF but usually something which is safe in pregnancy is safe for BF.

Hadn't thought of Bach website!
Thanks for that, will get some today, DS already testing me!

Would not do your ds any harm to have a drop or two of rescue remedy himself. Grin
