Cold sore advice????

Hi, ds is one next week, still bf and has developed what I think is a cold sore on the lower lip. Looks like a small yellowish blister just below his lip. Appeared suddenly this pm. No other symptoms and doesn't seem to bothering him but am horrified!!!!
He has just learnt to kiss so has been kissing everyone that holds him so imagine thats how he has picked it up, anyway, bit worried about how this may affect breastfeeding. Seems to be loads of conflicting advice. Obviously I will carry on but am I likely to get it on my nipples, if so, then what? No way I am weaning but ds won't take BM by cup or bottle. Prob worrying over nothing but just want to know what I am dealing with. Any advice? Could I put a coldsore plaster on it to stop it spreading?
Thanks all!

Jakey didn't want you to go unanswered but really don't know about this one sorry. Can totally understand why the risk of herpes in your nipples would be a concern.

As you aren't getting any info have you tried on of the bfing helplines? Have you got the numbers

Is it a milk blister? Quite common in newborns from the sucking!

Sorry - scanned & thought he was one week! Might be an idea to ring the breastfeeding helplines. I think that you wouldn't get it on your breasts but I might be wrong.

Thats what I thought too Rilla but don't want to say she won't get it if she will Smile.

Have you managed to find out any more yet Jakey?
