Newborn feeding ALL the time!

Cosleeping so getting a BIT of sleep but even have to feed on the loo coz I can't handle the fury if I put him down for a second.

Nipples sore but I have giant nipples and baby has teeny mouth. Latch is as good as it can be. Fury at being off the breast for one second means wide open mouth to start.

Born yesterday morning he has had 7 completely full nappies (don't tend to change poo nappies until they are full to capacity anyway) and colour of poo now browny-yellow.

Despite being overdue and fed up, I'm starting to think it was better when he was inside!

Ah that's where I'm going wrong! Have been trying to feed ds2 (4.04kg/8lbs 12oz at birth now probably 7kg at 10 weeks) every 2-3 hours and he really isn't that interested. I should hold out longer then maybe he won't be sick on me all the time. Grin

I'm doing fine thanks. It's only just past 2 days and my milk is well and truly flowing and bright yellow day glow nappies (with bits of green).

He's given me a couple of breaks today I think because we had to go out to the paed check etc. Prolly feed all night!

Ceevee, I live in an area with really low hb rates. The system isn't set up for them.

I agree with a couple of other PPs. You perhaps need to get him checked for tongue tie. Mine had tongue tie and fed a lot first couple of days, and a friend's baby was exactly the same. Once he had his tongue tie treated he fed for 20 minutes (as opposed to over an hour previously) and promptly fell asleep for three hours!

Oh, and of course, congratulations! Grin

Oh well, looks like you made the visit and you seem to be doing really well.

ooh Starlight - just posted on your other thread but see now that your other two dcs are the same age as mine. Can truly sympathise then (apart from my dc3 hasn't arrived yet)

Congrats Starlight xx Followed your thread about trying to sort out the home birth.

Nope, no helpful advice about the constant feeding, pregnant with my first
