Has anyone seen it?

A lot of interesting things about breastmilk I've learned. First it's got a lot of live culture, similar to probiotic yoghurt. It's also filled with sugar an infant can't absorb. Lastly I'm shocked how much of the chemicals we absorb is passed onto our babies. (I shouldn't be so shocked about the last one because I do know the higher you are in the food chain, the more concentrated things like mercury is in your body)

A very interesting read.

There's a great quote within that Analytical Armidillo article -

"If babies are going to be exposed in some way to toxins - why would removing the one substance that is shown to actively assist their body be desirable"

Then I clicked on another link about BFing a six year old and ended up reading all about breastfeeding in a yurt in Mongolia Smile

Top article by analytical armadillo - agree it should be published in the guardian as a response piece. Certainly put my mind at rest - I bf all of mine over a year and ebf for the first 6 months, I'm certain I gave them the best possible start but I have no evidence to support this other than my gut feel.

I do wonder how exposing newborn humans to fish oil and all the other chemicals that go into formula has become the 'normal' thing to do Confused who can possibly know what the long term impact of this might be? i did use formula with my eldest once they'd started on solids. However my youngest came out in a rash all round her face when we tried her with formula Hmm that really made me wonder what exactly was in there that could possibly cause her skin to blister? Shock

Thanks or the link eaurouge! And nice to see you around.
I also found the article weird and wondered if the editing could have some fault in it as the two halves barely followed each other.
You guys have put my mind at rest!
