Breakfast instead of first BF

My DD is almost 13 months ago and I have been breast feeding her first thing in the morning and before bed.

I have not long returned to work and the morning feeds means I have to get up at 5:30am in order to feed her and give her enough time before she gets her breakfast. She won't eat her breakfast if it isn't long enough after her milk feed. I am struggling to manage to get up at this time then work a productive day so I need and want to look at dropping this feed.

But instead of replacing it with a bottle or most likely a sippy cup, can I just go straight to giving her her breakfast (she has about 4 ozs of milk in her cereral) with her milk in a sippy cup alongside her breakfast.

I don't want to cut out her feed if it means that she will be missing out on milk she needs. So I was just wondering if anyone else had just cut BF and not replaced it.

Yes yes yes! Go ahead, straight down for breakfast. She can always have a cup of milk at mid morning snack.

Or could you bf her later, then she has her breakfast at her childcare? That's what we are doing - I feed at 7am and go to work. Childminder gives DD her breakfast at 9am...

DD has breakfast at nursery too. It works because it's usually at least an hour after bf when we get there. Otherwise just feed her breakfast and have mid morning cows milk. (DD has mid morning milk as well. It's part of the nursery routine).
