I just witnessed DD projectile vomit practically a whole feed. I don't know why but it's really upset me. She is 7 months soon and EBF. I gave her a little bit of chicken to try and she gagged on it and the vomited.

I can't stop reliving it in my head!! She is fine but I'm not. I don't understand why I'm so upset!!!

It is upsetting to see them sick especially the first time. With DS he was 4m and threw up at 4am all over the bed. I kept thinking that if we had not been co-sleeping he may have died from not being able to be sick lying on back unaided. I think it makes you realise how vunerable they are and also the amount that comes out is huge compared to the size of their tummies. Keep her upright for a bit then maybe a couple of mouthfuls of water. She will be fine.

Im offering her purees at the mo and I've been toying with the idea of switching over to BLW. But after what happen tonight I think I'll stick to purees.

It's horrible isn't it, but their gag reflexes are just so sensitive at that age, to prevent choking, it happened to my DS a few times when he bit off too much, but it is frightening when it happens.

It's terrifying.... DD did that with a mushed up piece of cod. I swear my heart stopped because I thought she was choking.

Never thought i'd be relieved to have milk and fish running down my legs....!

It was terrifying. I don't think I can do that again. Everytime I do give her something to "chew" she just ends up choking!! Has anyone noticed waiting a certain amount of time before offering finger foods?
