Mixing ready made formula and EBM

Just as the title says really - reading on here it seems quite common to mix the two to bulk out the expressed milk. Is this ok for an ebf baby? I have a hungry 6 week old and have some commitments coming up which mean he'll be left with his dad for a couple of hours at a time. Would be v useful to be able to do this. Any advice greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Can't see why it would be a problem, unless you were hoping to preserve the virgin gut.

I have done this with no problems. I just used to make sure I gave it immediately or sometimes it would separate if left.

I think the advice is always to give the breastmilk first to make sure they get it all and then offer the formula.
