dd is breast fed and 8mths and starts nursery next month when I go back to work 2 days a week and 1 day a week she will be with DH. She is BLW so doesn't eat a great deal but will takes small amounts of formula from a bottle.

At the moment she feeds 4 times a day and 2 times at night
On the days that she is at nursery 9am-6pm and i will work 11am-8pm she will have 1 morning breastfeed and then i will send 2 bottles of formula. Dh will put her to bed and I will be home at 9 so can feed her when she wakes at night

So she will miss 3 feed when I am at work. I do want to feed her still on my days off but am concerned that this won't work. Should I just start quitting breast feeding now- feel so sad and tearful

Please don't be tearful gluttom. She will be 9 months when you return and your supply will be well established. I returned to work both for two days a week with both dc and they have had some milk while I was a at work and then I've bf them when I've been at home no problem.

You might want to talk through your plan with a BFC just to put your mind at rest. Have you got the helpline numbers?

Thanks JJJ - I just love comforting her with bf and not ready to stop yet. I have the helpline number and have use them before - thanks!

No need to give up comforting her with a bf if you don't want too. She'll be fine while you are at work and will love the bfs when you are not Smile.

DC1 refused all milk and just had solids and water while I was at work, DD would take some formula, maybe a couple of ounces while I was away but both more or less adopted a policy of "I'll just wait". Both were fine on it.
