Breastfeeding in Poland

Following on from the happy thread on breastfeeding in France I wondered about breastfeeding in Poland.

DS will be 18months when we travel there. Does anyone know might rights? Anyone know what the culture around breastfeeding is there?

I understand it is quite a child friendly country. Love to hear some happy stories to put my mind at rest or prepare myself if it could be rough.

I have had contact with lots of Polish mothers as a breastfeeding counsellor. They tell me most women expect to breastfeed in Poland and that it's unusual to formula feed - I expect you'll be fine :)

All the Polish mums I've met in London all breastfeed so I think it is indeed the norm out there.

I have many Polish friends and all have breastfed their children. Mostly up until age 2/3 years so it seems to be the norm over there.

One Polish friend of mine was shocked when a mutual friend formula fed her newborn as she had never known anyone use formula from day one.

Oh Wow ! That is fab to hear. One less thing to worry about. We are going for a wedding and there is all sorts of family drama surrounding it. Glad breastfeeding isn't going to be one of them.
