Ouch! DD is 14 months old and I've never really had a problems with sore nipples. For the last 24 hrs my boob has been sore to the touch. Just fed DD before bed and how now noticed a pus spot on my nipple, looks like a spot like you'd get on your face. What on earth is it? And what should I do about it?

Sounds like a milk blister caused by a blocked duct. Apply some wet heat (shower, or hot flannel) and GENTLY see if you can lift the top of the blister with a clean fingernail. If it doesn't come away follow some of the hints on Kellymom. Don't stick a pin in it!

If your boob is sore (is it hard? Is there a lump?) you will need to be vigilant in case you get mastitis. If you start to get aches & pains, or fluey-type symptoms, head straight to your GP as you may need antibiotics.

In the meantime, try to work the blockage out (see tips on Kellymom), in a nice hot shower or bath, comb your boob - really, with a comb - and make sure DD feeds really well from that side, without neglecting the other obviously.

HTH.

Thank you, think you're right. Have just scraped it with my. Nail and got a plug of pus out. Disgusting! Off to read kellymom properly. Thanks.

Aww sweet, your first boob zit! Grin

Glad to see it worked out. They are gross. If you have them for a while they really stink when you excise them. Bleee.
