Playtex teats

Where is the best place to get these? Have found the Mam Ultivent ones but not sure about Playtex or which ones. Still trying to get bf dd onto bottle.

Also baby supplies - mostly different here too, they seem to have a new range called Naturalatch - but do still have the old kind too (Easy Feed).

You can also try independent larger pharmacies Em32. Boots and Superdrug don't stock them.
We had big success with getting reluctant ds onto EBM with Easy Feed teats, but dd was having none of it and went straight onto beakers.
I'd offer you my remaining Easy Feed teats but they were nabbed by dd as "dummies" for her dollies , and they must be starting to perish by now as they were bought in 2000

Yes, my local pharmacy ordered them in specially for me and stock the drop in liners just for me as well. By the way, Em, I don't think the teats fit any other bottles, definitely don't fit Avent or NUK. You would have to buy the nurser as well.

Thanks all, have just bought the Naturalatch teats in silicone and latex but now feeling annoyed that I will have to buy the bottle too! At least I know now though!

It is annoying tbh. And the bottles need liners which you have to keep buying, Luckily enough I only need about 9 a week because I still bf ds3 when he's with me. Just bought some Avent teats again to try him with, now that he's stopped thinking bottles are the devil's work!

I agree with JanH best place to get these is the Playtex Site www.infantcaredirect.co.uk - not that expensive when you think that of the convenience factor of not having to sterlise etc - I got buy with just having three bottles (nursers) and the liners on a roll which is about £4.00 for 100. Also they are really helpful. FYI the Easy Feed nurser now only comes with the Naturalatch teat but they still have the old style Flat teat in Olderbaby (fast flow)
I understand the Naturalatch is a progression from the original as I had a long chat with one of the girls recently. Also if you know you are going to use their system they do a starter set for a bargain £15 whic has 2 small and 3 large nursers in plus a selection of teats so you can see which one works best - sorry for long post but thought it might be useful.

Has anyone ever found any other bottles that the Playtex teats will fit onto? My ds has refused all attempts to try other types of teats and wondered if I could find a bottle they would fit rather than keep having to buy liners.

You could try the Playtex Ventaire bottle which are their resuable offering - it has a naturalshape teat but its not as soft as the disposable system one - sadly the Playtex teats only work with the Playtex bottles - having been through this many times.

Note for Stephanie - Playtex the bra people and the bottle people were linked once upon a time but when they separated they agreed to keep the brand name - apparently because people recognised it - I asked the same question!!

I am currently using dr browns an my 7 week old is on expressed breast milk only as brest feeding does not seem to interest him. I am planning on flying to the states to visit my parents next month and am wondering if these would be a good idea for travelling as I would bring frozen bm in a cooler bag...does that sound reasonable? any input would be great

Racheeee, I'd say it would be a good system for travel. You could use the soft bottle liners to store your EBM. bring one bottle holder and the teats and lids are stackable. What kind of pump do you use?

And I don't think the drop-in liners would be good fot that, have never used them for storage but they'd be difficult to seal, I'd imagine.

I use a Medela Symphony pump...which I would not bring on the plane with me..its HUGE. Although I am sure many of the other people on the plane would get a kick out of watching me pump!! I do own a mini medela hand pump which I would bring with me to maybe have a little pump in the bathroom.

I think I am addicted to pumping! I pump 3x a day and can express about 16-20 oz in a go...at the minute I pump so much more than my baby needs I have (literally) a freezer full of BM. I might have to start throwing some away soon! My baby was 7lbs 14 at birth and now, at 7 weeks he is over 12lbs!!! I knew those big old boobies would come in handy for something!!!

LOL at pumping on the plane, racheee! The reason I asked what pump is that the Playtex breastmilk storage system is compatible with Medela but not with Avent. You could express directly into the bags if you wanted.

With the drop in liners [firm ones] i have washed them using a sponge bottle brush and sterilised in milton solution along with the teat and ring/cover set,they last for ages

Hi Racheeee - You can store EBM in the Playtex Drop in Liners if you get the BreastMilk storage kit as it has special lids to seal the drops ins - it also has the pump attachment to fit to the medela so you can express directly into the liners.....am in awe of the amount you express!!

Racheeee If you are pumping this much and thinking of throwing some away why don't you think about donating to a hospital milk bank? Just a thought (I just checked this thread as it seemed to have got so long!)
