Anything else I can do?

6mo DD is poorly. Been to drs and she is getting better slowly but the only way to comfort her is to let her nurse continually whilst sleeping in my arms. She has lost her cry and just sobs tears so I'm happy to do anything to comfort her and i'm grateful nursing is helping her but I now have blisters on both nipples.

Using lots of Lansinoh.... Anything else I can do to help the blisters clear up?

Aw, poor we thing Sad

A bit of expressed milk and air drying?

Is she not latching on as well as usual cos she's poorly?

Ah bless her (and your poor nipples).

How about changing feeding positions - you could try lying down, rugby ball style, front facing you (rest her sitting up on your knee). A change in position would mean that she'll change her latch slightly so your nipples will have a bit of a rest.

Ah bless her, its so hard when your body is their only comfort, but try not to be a martyr - you don't want to end up so sore that you dread feeding her as that will be awful for both of you.

Not sure what to suggest, but as an ex-BFing mum of 3, I feel your pain and didn't want to let your message go unanswered. Hope DD feels better soon x

Thank you all. Her latch is slipping because she is just comfort sucking. It's a shame because she has had a great latch for a while now. I will try a different position.

DH has been working abroad but is due back later so he could cuddle her while I express to give myself a break and some air drying.

It's like having a newborn again..... I'm so sad she is sick but I must admit the snuggling is nice!

Sorry, I meant put a bit of your milk on the blisters. Smile

But, aye, husband could do a bit of hugging/slinging/pramming! Let you get 20 mins to get a nice bubble bath Grin

I see what you mean nethunsreject. That never would have occurred to me. Will definitely give it a go. Seen how well it works on sticky eyes at least!
