Feeding cues in a (nearly) 9wo?

So my DD (9wo on Sunday) had a posterior TT clipped two weeks ago, and while things appear to be going well, I'm struggling to figure out when she is hungry! It feels sort of like starting all over from the start, trying to learn my baby's cues. I think before the clip, she was constantly hungry, and so was constantly giving feeding cues. But now she doesn't seem to be giving any (perhaps she was used to be starving, so being only sort-of hungry isn't triggering anything?), plus, she seems visually fascinated by her hands and the times that she does bring them to her mouth I can't tell if she's just playing or is giving a feeding cue. She often goes straight to crying from playing. She seems to take the boob whenever it is offered, but sometimes immediately pulls to the nipple and other times actually eats. I am drawing the conclusion that when she eats she was hungry and the other times something else was wrong, and she sucked on the nipple for comfort.

Are there different cues in a 9wo for hunger? How can I tell when she wants to eat?

I just stuck my baby on the nipple whenever he cried. He does have a "tell" though: if held in position near my nipple when I'm clothed, if he's hungry he shakes his head a little &/or opens his mouth ready to take it.

Hello arden bird glad u managed to get the tt snip.

I'm with u on the feeding cues though and think my dd was the same just got used to being hungry. :(

I have been told that turning head from side to side is one way of knowing-they're looking for food. Dd did the same as yours though would happily 'hang out' on the nipple if offered and not hungry, she'll also use it to chew and bring up wind so we spend a lot of time 'glued'

Good luck :)
