What age is current recommendation to move off bottles?

Hi there - DS2 is 16 months old and has 3 or 4 bottles of cows milk per day. What is the current recommendation on moving them off 'baby' bottles on on to sippy type cups? He has water in sippy cup already.

With DS1 (now aged 5) I seem to think it was about 12 months? Something to do with their teeth?

Thanks

You know, i've heard six months somewhere, think thats for starting to introduce cups, off by 12 months sounds about right. Its for their teeth i think,

introduce a cup at 6 months and off bottles by 1 year. It is to protect teeth and also to try and cut down the milk volume as they only need about 350mls a day from 1 year
