Womb Contracting

I have been breasrfedong for 4 weeks and have just started to express. Since I started doing this I get a strong pain in my stomach every time I feed. I presume this is my womb contracting but the pain is now there permanently, making it painful to stand or bend. Is this normal? Is it just a coincidence or is it in some way linked to the expressing?

If it's hurting all the time then I would have a word with your health visitor just in case. Normally you only get after-pains when you're breastfeeding/pumping and I don't think they go on for as long as 4 weeks.

Do you mind me asking why you're expressing? Just curious :)

I'm expressing so he can be bottle fed by DH and babysat by granny. I'll get in touch with the midwife tomorrow.
