Just wondered if any other ebffing mums have experienced similar...

DD is 6 months old now and still ebf. She is in the top 75th percentile and a right little chunk. She has never slept well at night (mainly because i breast feed to sleep and have only now started sleep training). This week I want to scream at the next person who asks, is she getting enough!!

Firstly a friend suggested I gave her a bottle of formula between breast feeds to help her sleep !!!!

Then an elderly woman stopped to admire dd in the street and got chatting and mentioned i was ebffing and she asked ooh is she getting enough,
then
today another friend offering advice about the sleep thing said, why dont you express and put it in a bottle that way you can see how much she is getting and know she has a full tummy to get to sleep?

these comments mostly from people who have kids themselves.. i think we need lessons in school about breast feeding or something!

for the record, im totally not concerned about how much milk dd is getting as i can see she is thriving with my own eyes!!

Good to know you are still confident despite comments from people :) You know your DD best and you can see she's doing well. I think breastfeeding is misunderstood because we're in a bottle feeding culture and so a lot of people don't understand how it works. Lessons in school would be brilliant!

It's not you that's caused your DD to not sleep well at night, btw- it's totally normal for a 6 mo to wake up during the night. I think knowledge of what is normal baby sleep is another thing that's been lost in our culture :( This is a really good resource for sleep information.

Speaking of which, I'm off to bed Grin
