Will this affect my supply

I'm getting married on Thurs and as my dress isn't bf friendly I'll only have 2 chances to bf my 8m old dd between 11am and 1am.

We've found a bottle she will take so planning on feeding her expressed milk and then a bf at 4pm and 8pm.

To get her used to this I was thinking of following the same plan for these 3 days before the wedding. I don't want to express during the periods where I'm bottle feeding her as I don't want to feel discomfort on the day.

For just 4 days how badly will this affect my supply and even if it does a bit can I make up for that by bf her lots over the weekend? Dd does still feed 2-4 times a night.

Sorry it's a bit long winded and TIA.

IMO it takes a long time for supply to be impacted in any way. If you pick up where you left off in 4 days it should not be an issue. Especially if your supply is good.

Is your baby 8m or 8w? If 8m, I wouldn't worry about doing it for 4 days, just follow the different pattern on the day and then just bf as normal before and after. At 8m your DD shouldn't be too worried and your supply shouldn't be affected.

Congratulations!

Wanted to follow up now I'm back from honeymoon.

Didn't manage to do any practice in the days before but worked really well on the day. I did have to get out of my dress to feed her and then hand express at 9pm! Found she didn't take much milk from the bottle during the day, about 5oz, but she did eat more solids than usual and made up for it the next day.

Thanks for the advice Smile
