V hot chilli & breastfeeding

I just made a vegetarian chilli, had a taste and oh my goodness is it hot.

I put in 2 onions / 2 courgettes / 2 red peppers / 2 tins plum toms / garlic / kidney beans & chickpeas, then 1 tablespoon mild chilli powder and 1 teaspoon of paprika and 1 teaspoon of cayene pepper. But it's HOT! My friend who likes hot stuff had some and mixed it with a bit of rice and nat yoghurt and says it was really hot.

So, my question is.... if i eat it, mixed with lots of nat yog how bad will it be for my breastfed 8 week old?

I love chilli and eat it most nights and when i was pregnant and breastfeeding.

I have to say i never noticed it bothered my dd and she is three and loves chilli in stirfrys and will eat chunks of garlic.

i amnot sure if this is because of the amount i consumed during pregnancy and b/f

only one way to find out for you

Agree - only one way to find out! I avoided strong stuff for a while but I don't think it would have made much difference owing to the stuff I ate while preggers. DD also loves mild curries (only 8m so sticking to mild!)

I ate loads of curries/chilli when pg but one of the things DS2 reacted badly to was me eating chilli, nothing too serious, he was just a little unsettled and windy. Agree with the others you can only give it a try.
