Formula question: growing up milk

DD has cow and gate stage one milk, they also do a growing up milk which appear to be the same thing but with more iron. She's now 6.5 months and eating a little so if I get to the baby milk section and there's no stage one milk is this growing up milk an okay substitute? I ask as the packaging is totally unclear so I'm not sure if it's okay for a baby on a mainly milk bit of food diet.

Thanks

Growing up milk is for babies over 1.

At your baby's age, regular infant formula is just fine. If its not available, you can choose follow on but not growing up milk:

There will be a number on the pack you can ring to ask the C&G helpline for info.

Tiktok is right - your baby is the right age for either first milk (they can have this right up until they're 12 months), hungrier baby milk or follow-on formula from 6 months.

The growing up milk is different and is designed for babies over a year. It's very sweet and designed to be drunk more as a drink alongside a full diet, not as a main milk "food" when starting weaning. It won't have the necessary nutrients in it to support her development at her age.

If there is no Cow and Gate first milk, hungry baby or follow on in the shop then the next best thing would be another brand, not toddler milk.

Great thanks, very confusing and I don't want to give her the wrong thing!

It is silly, isn't it! All just a big marketing con :(
