Feel really ill

Currently breastfeeding 8mnth old. Last night was sick 3 times between 11-2 am, felt awful, shivery etc. Managed to feed baby in night despite feeling yuck. This morning felt a bit better, but have had a headache all day which has got worse. Spent most of the day in bed, been sipping boiled water but no solids. This evening managed to feed baby and put her to bed at 8.30, have slept until now (11) but feel awful, headache is worse and I feel even more sick than last night. Am dreading baby waking, which she's likely to do at least twice!! Husband doesn't know what to do with me!!!

This sounds like the start of Mastitis to me. If I were you I'd see a doc in the morning and explain. If it is you need antibiotics. Hope you sort it out x

Gosh, do you think so, I hadn't even considered that. Boobs aren't sore or lumpy, in fact they don't even feel as full as they normally would 3hours after feeding. I'm worried the headache could be due to dehydration. Thanks littleoldme, will get in touch with doc in morning if no improvement.

Have just been sick again, so that's all the water I've sipping back up :(

Poor old you. Sounds like you must be feeling pretty grim.

When I mastitis I hot shakes and fever before boobs got sore. I have honestly never felt so I'll. This may well be something different though if you are being sick too. Hope it clears up soon and that the doc can help you x
