wwyd? bf query

6 wks old - last fed 10.30am and kept it down, slept a good couple of hours and woke, nappy change - a bit hungry. had a feed, filled nappy, sicked up feed. not projectile, just copious. after another nappy change she was giving me hungry cues again so i fed her - boob wasnt squirty, it was a nice calm feed. sicked it all up again. she's not normally so pukey!

so now she's crying and hand sucking and clawing my face, but still posseting. do i feed her again or try waiting a bit? i want to feed her because shes never done more than 4hrs between feeds, but she's just puking it up? are we just entering a pukey phase?

My DS was a horribly sicky baby. He styled himself on something from the Exorcist, I think.

I was terribly worried that he would lose weight or was dangerously ill because of the amount of times he threw up.

I spoke with doctors and health visitors and they all said that it wasn't a problem unless he was sick after 2 or more feeds in a row.

As your little one has been sick 2 feeds in a row, I would be tempted to call your GP.

shes peacefully asleep again without being fed - v unlike her, but she seems ok otherwise. i'll definately feed her again when she wakes up and see what happens!

good to be able to quickly ask other mums though, even if this seems like a silly thread.

Not silly at all! She could just be having a sicky day (EVERY day round here), or have a bit of a dicky tummy, which is quite unlikely in BF babies. Either way, best thing to do: If in doubt, get one out!

she hasn't been coldy at all has she? whenever mine were a bit snotty they'd sometimes sick up what looked like most of a feed (in reality it prob isn't, a little goes a long way) and i think it's from being a bit mucousy/swallowing snot. nice

no doesn't seem coldy - we didnt have any more probs yesterday, in fact a very calm night with a 90 minute feed which hasn't happened for a while - I guess my oversupply is finally calming down after 3wks of 12hr blocks! Nice that she can comfort suck now.
