Green poo!

So, my 4mo DD has green poo. FF due to me being ill. She was poorly with an off tummy about 2 weeks ago, and they were all mostly yellow and very frequent (6 times a day for about 8 days), then she went to once a day, and now about once every 36h.

She's also started screaming with wind. Not colic. She'll be fine, then screaming until she farts/poos, then fine...literally switching one minute to the next. Max screaming session about 10mins. She's also pretty flatulent now, never used to be, and they STINK BAD.

It often looks like green soup, with spinach bits, or sometimes more spinachey...but there's often yellow with it too. It's fairly good volume (she seems to actually poop "poo pants around her"). The poo is also VERY smelly.

She's started with silent reflux and often just leaks milk more.

She's NOT overeating (according to weight or age). She's not dehydrated according to all the usual signs.

She's on aptamil. HV said that was "unfortunate, as that was the next logical step" (as in, if she wasn't on aptamil then switch her to it).

History of lactose intollerence from my side and DH is a coeliac. I have IBS (but not lactose intollerence), and for me, escecually round AF time, pooing feels very bruised. I keep getting told it's not an allergy as she's not vomiting fountains.

Any ideas?

Tummy bugs can cause temperory lactose intolerance in baby's. You will need to take her to the GP and put her on a lactose free formula (I think you should probably vist GP anyway) if this is what it is.

My DD had cows milk protein allergy so even lactose free formula isn't enough, it had to be hydrolysed (Neocate) formula. I'd go to the GP and explain family history etc and see if they think dairy allergy could be responsible fpr symptoms. II really feel for you as DD had these symptoms and it was awful to watch.

We're off to the docs i a bit. It's now been over 3 days since a poo. Thanks ladies.

I think it's a sign of excess acid in the tummy...my DD gets poo this colour each time she goes through a teething spurt.

We're thinking colic & constipation. If she hasn't pooped by Thurs (when her next jabs are due) we postpone jabs and try lactulose...assuming nothing changes. Meanwhile get her to 'snack' on water... Hmm Can't see that happening.
