So have af for the first time since having dc shes 15 months so very lucky :) have always had heavy crampy periods just wondering what others take while they are still bf, always taken a lot of ibuprofen and paracetamol for the pain but weary of taking too much while bf. Anyone have any other options me and df are startig to ttc again so pill etc isnt going to work

Paracetamol is fine when BF, as long as you stay within the advised dosage. IIRC (and it's been a while) ibuprofen isn't allowed. Do you use tampons? A lot of women find swapping to a mooncup really helps reduce the pain.

I found my periods a lot easier after DC, lighter and less painful. Hopefully it'll be the same for you.

Thanks im sticking with just the paracetamol shame it isnt strong enough by itself. Have read about the mooncup before on here but pain is the same regardless of pads or tampons some brands do make it worse ah well will just have to plod along. Its not like I can curl up in bed like before we had dd.

You can take ibuprofen when breastfeeding!
