Help! Stopped bf-ing...

maybe a little too quickly (though tried not to) due to ds allergies and my diet. He is 11mths and I have not fed for 4 days now after dropping a feed for 3 days, then another etc (was on 4 p/day). My breasts are both quite full feeling and tender but one especially is so tender and sore with pea like lumps around it and what feels like a blocked duct. I massaged it and drops if clear ish (milk I guess?) came out. It's eased the discomfort a bit but still sore.

We are away at the mo on a UK holiday and I don't want to get mastitis! Can anyone advise what I should do please? I can't feed again as I've reintroduced dairy to my diet (I would feed like a shot if I could!)

I have been winding down too and stopped all feeds today. My boobs were as you described yesterday. I found lying in a hot bath on my tummy IYSWIM got the milk moving and I could then massage them in the bath. Also, using a bar of soap removes the friction so it hurts less.

Have you got a pump? I have been pumping once a day and reducing the number of minutes.

Cabbage leaves? Don't know if that will work but does in the early days!

I hope things improve

Cabbage leaves - savoy

Express just enough to ease the discomfort

Comb your boobs with a wide tooth comb in the shower

Painkillers if necessary

Ouch! Yes, express to relieve pressure, 'comb' down towards nipple with fingers, be on the lookout for any mastitis signs. Not scaremongering but maybe make sure you know wherre your nearest ooh gp is

Thanks, I've managed to express from the very painful side at least. Is it normal to be terribly sore, I wasn't really expecting it? I am a bit run down anyway at the mo so hope I don't miss signs of mastitis if I am that unlucky.
