Quick version: how long will my boobs be engorged after cutting out a feed?

Long version: DD is 15 months, and until 2 days ago I was BFing her first thing in the morning & before bed. We cut out the morning feed & the first day was fine, not too engorged. I BF last night as usual, but overnight I developed really achy mega-boobs & I feel really rough - headache, nausea, fatigue etc. I didn't sleep well, but I think the engorgement is part of the problem. I didn't really have any problems dropping from 4 to 3 or 3 to 2 feeds. How long before normal boob service resumes?

Thank you.

Watch it if you feel really poorly it could be mastitis, even after 15 months of feeding.

I'd say three or four days. When I stopped feeding completed (had cut down slowly) my boobs felt like they were full of stones and painful for almost two weeks then all OK.

You could express just a bit to take the edge off.

I stopped cold turkey first two days awful then eased off. On two occasion I pumped off about 1oz just because I was so engorged I couldn't move arm!!! I soak in a hot bath was heaven!!!
