Mastitis advice please

Ds 19 days old, I have women this morn with chills,fever, red patch on boob, feeling achy & wretched.

Am doing frequent feeding,warm compress, ibu etc. How long shouldi persist before resorting to ab?

I think the recommendation is 24hrs, are you expressing too and having gentle massage? It's rotten so I hope you feed better soon. Oh, and feed feed feed!

Yes feeding, expressing, warm wet nappy on boob as per kellysmom. Just wondered on timescale as nothing really says.

Will go to ooh dr 2mrw if not improved.

I also have terrible lower back ache, not sure if it's the 'aches' from mastitis. Doesn't hurt to wee don't think it's an uti, dunno.

I just had mild mastis, huge red patch and tenderness but no aches so I didn't see anyone. At least if you see someone if not feeling better you can get a presciption just in case, you dont have to take it but you dont have to wait ages to get a ooh appointment
