Bra sizing - Nursing bras

I am pregnant with baby 3 and have decided to breast feed for the first time. From what I have read I should wait until 8 months to buy any nursing bras, however, when I had baby 1 & 2 when my milk came in my breasts were huge!

Do your breast stay larger throughout breast feeding ie, the size they are when the milk comes in or do they go back down to pregnancy size (ish) once milk supply is settled?

If you go somewhere where they are trianed at fitting nursing bra's (If your bigger then a D cup then Bravisimo is good) they should give you some room for when you get bigger.

Your breast size will drop again while you are feeding but when this happens will depend on you. Just get remausred when your not comfatble anymore.

And good luck with the feeding.

Thanks MigGril. Bravissimo it is :-) It's quite daunting this whole breast feeding business!

It can be quit hard work in the first few week's have a good read hear kellymom.com/ and make sure you know where your local BF cafe is, in fact go along while PG they like to see antinatal women to.

I've found Bravissimo excellent for fitting bras, both while bursing and not.

I did buy my nursing bras while pregnant from M&S (I declined their measuring service... Grin ) and although they fitted right up until the birth, I had to stop on the way home from the hospital at 3 days post birth then go again 7 days post birth, both times for bigger bras as my boobs had got ridiculously huge. I am now in the middle somewhere, two sizes up from pre breastfeeding.

I should have gone to Bravissimo whilst pregnant but there wasn't one near to me until we moved house.

I agree with going to a BF cafe, it can be very reasurring, especially to chat with other women who also happen to be BF Mums.

Oh thanks for the advice ladies, I didn't even realise that there were BF Cafe's but I will definitley be popping along. Thanks for the link also I will have a good trawl through the site.

It seems our breasts don't follow a particular pattern so don't rush out and buy lots of any size at once?

I think with both of mine I only got one or two in any one size so I didn't feel to bad when needing more a few week's latter.
