I've finally decided which pump to buy, but ouch they are expensive.

Does anyone know where I can purchase a new one for less than £100?

I can't tell you where to buy a new pump for under £100. However, I bought a used pump from EBAY in perfect condition and I expressed for 7 months. You'll find that many people buy a new pump and then decide it is not the right one for them and are trying to recoup some money. Also, if you are a memeber of freecycle, you could put a wanted listing for a medela swing. For my first pregnancy, I got a medela swing for free.

One of my friends got the double one at The Baby Show for quite a big discount, not sure it was as cheap as £100 but remember being Envy at the time (last autumn)

Btw there was another thread a few days ago on double breast pumps and someone posted a link about buying second hand pumps which was pretty gross....

YoullLaughAboutItOneDay · 09/04/2012 19:36

It was probably this one, which explains why, if you are considering second hand, a closed system should be a must. It's icky!

I had the double Medela. It was under £100...I will try and find the link for you...

LetsKateWin · 09/04/2012 20:00

I'm really sorry, I can't find the link. I've searched my browsing history but it doesn't go back far enough. I remember at the time it was the only place that sold it at such a reduced price...

saggybaps · 09/04/2012 20:45

Thanks anyway, I've googled and found that Tesco was selling them last year for £45!!! Argh!!

I think mine was £65. It was 2 years ago, so maybe they're no longer doing it.

saggybaps · 10/04/2012 20:34

I think the price has sky-rocketed, they're now RRP £129.99!! I think I've found one for £105.

Seems a lot of cash, but when my norks are on fire & mastitis is looming - I'd pay anything - so I should just get on with it! Thanks again anyway.

Yes the spectra one, I have it and it's excellent both hardwiring and strong suction in getting the milk out. It's hospital grade and only 60 pounds

pigletmania · 12/04/2012 22:50

You can get it from amazon, I just have a I pad and don't know how to link but just type in spectra breast pump in the search engine
