Help! 10 month old thinks its funny to bite!

My 10 month old is teething and has seven very sharp little teeth. He seems to think its hilarious to bite whilst feeding Shock I obviously do not think its funny!

I've tried saying no, but I think that might have been what he found funny in the first instance and is now repeating it like a game. In fact, he also likes to play peek-a-boo with my top whilst feeding... Anyway, he obviously he doesn't understand no yet.

Any ideas? I wasn't planning to give up anytime soon.

Remove from breast if biting. 'Ignore' for a few seconds. Try again. Never 'play bite' them if they stick fingers in your mouth.

Some advice on here: kellymom.com/ages/older-infant/biting/

I remove DD2 from the breast with a very firm "no". They've got to learn that it's not allowed otherwise it will be very unpleasant for you.

Thank you very much all. Thankfully he seems to have forgotten the great 'game' now... Phew!

Hello BlastOff this isn't on topic but can I ask how much do you breast feed a 10 month old? I'm going back to work then question here and I'm trying to figure out how many hours I can do without stopping bf. Do you still feed on demand?

watching with interest as my (so far toothless) 7m old finds biting hilarious and she does it at almost every feed

she looks me in the eye then bites / grins at me Shock

i say NO firmly, and turn her away... she has a good look around the room before smiling at and chatting happily to her feet... [buhmm]

I've just had a biting dd - I took her off saying 'no' 4 times and each time she did it again. I'm too scared to try again now Sad Trying to get the last feed from breast to bottle anyway without much luck - maybe this is what will do it - it hurts!

How do you manage to feed again without dreading a bite any second? I sat there feeding with my whole body tensed in anticipation of the next one.
