A poo question for a bf baby

Just a quicky really. My ds's dirty nappies have become a lot less frequent in the last few weeks-going from several poos a day to usually just one a day on average...I realise this is quite normal for a bf baby but the only thing that slightly concerns me is their sheer volume now (they are huge and pretty much always overflow out of the nappy) and also their consistency-whereas before they were always very seedy and whilst still quite loose had some sort of substance to them, they are now almost completely liquid. Is this normal? Surely if he had an upset tummy he would be going very often as well as the loose poos?

Ours did this from about 3/4 weeks until he started solids. They were green liquid, once a day at most, sometimes once a week. He is now 9mo and has 3/4 a day and very much solid. We made sure we had 3 changes of clothes with us and didn't dress him in anything too nice if he was due one! Good luck, it does get better :)

Sometime teething also causes watery green poos Grin

My DTs starting pooing once a day or even less when they were about that age, and are still doing this now (except today, see other thread re curry!). They are yellow though, not green, and liquid but quite thick! Aren't green poos a sign of too much lactose?

Re the explosions, I use the next nappy size up and find these contain the poo much better. I also changed from Huggies to Pampers, they seem to hold it better.

Yes they are a sort of yellow, perhaps 'tan' better describes it, and he is only about 12 and a half weeks so I presume that is too young for teething anyway...

My DD is 13 weeks and EBF, she still goes several times a day and it's practically always very liquidy. Sometimes it's grainy, perhaps once a day but they're not very big. I think the fewest poos she's had in a day is 3. And it often leaks up her back rather than down her leg because it's so runny.

Perfectly normal, this is the joy of the ebf baby Grin. I just got DS's old clothes out to wash and they were so yellow around the legs from poo stains! I remember seeing many babies with yellow poo bubbling up the back, lovely.

I found once we switched to washables we got fewer poo leaks, a two part system like little lambs is pretty good at containment Smile. I found less changing of clothes (his and mine) offset the extra washing for the nappies iyswim Smile.
