Engorged breasts at 7 weeks

I'm hoping for some advice as I had really thought my oversupply would have calmed down by now as DS is nearly 7 weeks old. Basically between feeds (I am exclusively bf) my breasts fill up so much that by the time the next feed comes around , they're rock hard. I definitely have an oversupply and fast let down so the only solution seems to be to pump for a couple of mins on each side before a feed (which almost fills the medela pump bottle) so that DS doesn't get sprayed and also so I have a chance of emptying the breasts - have already has mastitis and an v scared of getting it again.

My concern is that pumping even a little bit before a feed surely tells my body that DS needs all of this milk so it will keep creating these huge volumes of the stuff.

Any help gratefully received!

There are lots of tips here from kellymom fro dealing with over supply and a fast let down. Hopefully some of these will work for you. It might be better to do a little bit of hand expressing rather than using the pump and the stimulation is a bit more gentle

Thanks Marzipan. Unfortunately I've already exhausted all of these tips as have been trawling the Internet for ages looking for help. Hand expressing is an interesting idea, I do this sometimes in the bath or shower but when DS wakes and needs feeding, I find a quick pumping session gets things softened and ready to feed quicker.,,
