Feeding to sleep and non-nutritive sucking in EBF baby

DD is 6 months old and is EBF. She feeds to sleep at night (have tried putting down sleepy but no dice) and only ocassionally for naps. We co-sleep which is fine, except she seems to really want the nipple in mouth a lot. She really likes to suck for comfort but won't take a dummy. Tbh, I've just been going with it but now she's turned 6 months, I'm worried that the feed to sleep association could become too strong.

Will she grow out of it naturally? Do I need to tackle this?

Why do you think its non-nutritive?

She will grow out of it naturally. If you do nothing she won't still be doing it at 13.

The issue is when she grows out of it :-)

Thought you might like to read this thread which was started earlier today Smile.

Thanks JiltedJohnsJulie. Thx for link... That baby sounds v like mine.

I think it's non-nutritive as quite often as soon as the boob is in her mouth, she goes straight to sleep. She roots for it if she stirs. This is after she's had a feed too.

Hmmmm... I suppose I'm happy to continue while she is a baby, but wouldn't want to be doing it still when she's older than that. I think I'll need a bit more space in bed by then as both DH and I will be a bit squished...

Think you need to read the No Cry Sleep Solution then Smile, your library might have a copy.

Have a read of 12 alternatives for the all night nurser by Dr Sears too.
