Frozen EBM - once soapy always soapy? HELP!

I've got a reasonable stash of EBM in the freezer for re-starting regular choir rehearsals tonight. Stuck a bag in the fridge to defrost last night and just had a quick taste wondering if it was ok and it is completely soapy and unpalatable - excess lipase or whatnot.

Is it likely then that all my frozen EBM will also be rank? I can't bear it! I'll get another bag out to thaw, but also now frantically milking myself while DS naps, so there'll be enough for a bedtime cup tonight!

Eeeeek!

Don't know sorry Mombo as I was always a bit hopeless at expressing. Hopefully someone who knows will be along soon.

There's some advice here: kellymom.com/bf/pumpingmoms/milkstorage/lipase-expressedmilk/

IME once soapy (well, mine was just foul :( ) it's not salvageable. But scalding quickly before storing it works, for future reference.

I'm :( for you though, throwing all mine out was utterly devastating.
