baby suddenly refusing breast

today 6 month dd has been unsettled all day. she has been clingy and crying a lot. this morning and about 1.30pm i fed her - each time was short, and cut short early because of inconveniences (eg someone at the door or had to go meet someone) and baby wouldn't go back on again.
since about half one dd has not fed. everytime i put her to the breast she screams as if in deep distress and will not feed. she has been unsettled all day and i just don't know what is causing it - any ideas?
she doesn't look ill - she had a cold but is over the worst of it and fed through it. she is teething a bit but i don't think this would be the cause. i had a few more spicy foods this week and more chocolate than usual - i don't know if that would affect her. has this happened to anyone else?

It could be teeth have you tried anything to help with the pain at all? Worth a try.

Very unlikley that what you eat will effect her. Even though she's older skin to skin can be very carming for her.

Plus have a read hear about nursing sticks

I have tried giving her paracetamol and teething powders. the link was very good ive just read it thanks. from the information i think its either teething or an ear infection or reflux.

she has just had a cold so i hear it can develop into an ear infection and this can cause feeding problems. if it continues ill take her to the doc to rule that out. thanks for your help :)
