Any mums with a very big (older) baby who feeds a LOT?

I have a very big 10 month old. Hes over 2 stone now (last weighed at 8 months = 27lb). He usually feeds every hour.

But just recently hes going boob crazy, feeding every 40 mins. I dont mind at all. Its just that Im STARVING all the time. Its taking over my every thought. I'll have porridge at 7am (huge bowl) and by 9am after the school run Im starving. I had another bowl 20 mins ago and no joke, my stomachs rumbling.

Tea time is at 5.30pm, at 6.30 Im starving. Its literally constant. Its driving me NUTS.
Has anyone else had this? What are the best, lasting things to eat?

I cant have bananas, milk based products, eggs because of DS's allergies.

Any input or suggestions will be much appreciated!

My eldest is 3.6yo and feeds a lot, I'm also BF her younger sister who is 1yo. Oh, the hunger! I know what you mean. The amount I eat has become a family joke. I get the last laugh though because I still fit into my jeans Grin

I find high protein stuff like nuts and hummus keeps me going. I don't worry too much about mealtimes, I just eat all day when I'm hungry. I try (and fail) to avoid too much sugary stuff so that my blood sugar doesn't go up and down all day.

I'm not really into nutrition and dieting so I don't know the lingo but I think it's complex carbs that release energy slowly, and protein keeps you filled up. I normally just have a well-stocked fridge and snack all day. Make sure you keep well hydrated too.

I'll avoid nuts because of his allergies and we arent sure about nuts yet. But hummous is def going on the list.

Its become a joke in our family too. 'The human dustbin' no less! I too weigh less now than I did before I got pregnant. Bonus!

I know what you mean (DD2, 9 months, feeds all night at the mo as she has a cold). I eat porridge, peanut butter on pitta breads, have switched to wholemeal pasta... Still famished. Relate to the second breakfast thing.

Only thing I can say is stay off the sugar (which you probably do already).

I finished off 3 birthday cakes over the last 2 weeks - you know, the type where about 1/3 got eaten on the day and the rest of the sugary overprocessed fondant iced crap cake was put away in a cake tin. I felt famished and bad after that.

Yes the guilt. I generally dont ear sugary things I put fructose sugar in the porridge. But Im a sucker for jelly babies. I dont eat cake, chocolate or anything like that. But if Ive had a v.bad night with 3 or less hours sleep I crave sugar like anything. This is when the jelly babies make their entrance....
