PULLING MY NIPPLES

Advice please. 14 week old ebf DD. Gaining weight lovely nearly 14lb. Was breeding fine up until last week when she had an off week, took her to doc who said she was fine but i knew there was something up however magically back to normal now apart from the pulling my nipple business.
She hasnt favoured one side before but she does tend to pull on and off more on one side. She actually pulls her head back with my nipple between her lips and then lets go (really owch!) then she tries to sit up and then goes back on again and pulls again etc etc.

Im finding it impossible to feed her some feeds from the one side. I think she has started teething and it is really bothering her although i cant feel teeth yet and i realise it could be months before i do.

I have tried all sorts of positions, lying down, rugby ball hold her sat on my knee facing my boob!!(this is hysterical looking). I hold her firmly to my boob but she is so strong she pushes herself away so she can sit up.

Also she has started to make a funny grunting noise sometimes not all the time when feeding or if she has her or my fingers in her mouth - is this just her way of dealing with the pain/discomfort.
All this has coincided with her going from lovely sleeping at night where she would have 1 or 2 feeds at night but stay in a kind of sleep and go straight back down for 8 hours to suddenly I am having a smiling playful baby at 4am!! (so cute).

Also suffering reflux, Ive raised her mattress with towels underneath (we have a co sleeper so she is never far from my face!)
Advice please!
You know how we worry !!

I'm no expert but sounds normal to me.

DS started doing this around the same kind of time and his first tooth broke through at 18 weeks exactly!

He's now nearly 20 weeks and a pain in the backside to feed a lot of the time as he's far too nosey and any noise has him bobbing off for a good look around (and grin at old ladies) totally unconcerned that I'm flashing all!

That is so funny Noodie - my DS does exactly the same. Almost 6 month and likes a good nose mid feed, nipple in mouth, head turned and grinning all at same time.

Good job Im not embarrassed easily!!!

my dd started doing this at that age too! And like the above poster, wouldn't think twice about leaving me with a boob hanging out just so she could have a nose! she grunts and makes noises too, just keep feeding her as u usually do. If your worried that she's getting picky about sides then maybe just try and feed her from that side first and see if it helps.
