hi xbex, my DS is on ranitidine liquid 1ml three times a day - the syrup is different but I would check that dose as it sounds too high.

I squirt it in with a syringe, sometimes with difficulty Wink. It says not to mix with other liquids I think?

Mg and Ml are different things- it will depend on the concentration. Could be 10mg per ml- best to check though just in case..

I went to pharmacist and he worked it out for me as 0.6ml three times a day. He said it would have been the way the Dr wrote the prescription. And it can't be mixed with other liquids because its like oil and water apparently. Thanks and fingers crossed it works!

Glad to hear you found a helpful pharmacist, x6bec! And one that prevented your DS having a zantac overdose... Shock 0.6ml is much much easier to work with than 10ml, isn't it!

mildredh - GP may well have meant mg, but the no of mg per ml is a bit weird (17.5 or something) then GP has to work out dosage based on baby's weight in kg. It is not something a completely brain dead like me mum should have to work out at home later Smile

I would never have worked it out, all it said on bottle was 10mg 3 times a day. Have had big probs with said gp before, will not be seeing her again
