My 4mo baby has had a bout of gastroenteritis this weekend. I've woken up this morning with the same symptoms.

Is there anything I should or shouldn't do? Has anyone else had to sit on the loo or vomit while feeding?!

I have.

I found sipping water with a spoonful of sugar in it helped me feel less wobbly in general. Personally I found my supply dropped for a day or so but soon picked up and there were no issues.

Oh dear, that sounds messy :(

Feeding wise, there's nothing you should do differently, and you can take comfort that breastmilk is the gentlest thing for your babies tummy while he is ill. You won't pass any infection to baby through your milk, and you'll pass on any antibodies you make to fight the virus, so you'll help the baby to recover more quickly Smile

The only thing to do more of is washing your hands. an make sure you get enough fluids - it's easy to become dehydrated when ill, even without the extra fluid output of feeding. So drink lots!

Thanks so much, feeling so grim but that's one less worry.
