how to drop the last bedtime routine breastfeed?

DS is 1YO and I am now down to just the breastfeed which happens during the bedtime routine. He doesn't feed to sleep, but does enjoy this feed a lot and is a real cosy part of our bedtime routine. he won't take a bottle, and i don't think it is worth giving a beaker, as will cause more upset, but have no idea how to stop this feed. I don't want to continue breastfeeding any longer, so that is not an option!

any one got any ideas for us? Thank you! x

Mine was same ~ wouldn't take a bottle (though he drank water from a beaker). When he was 1 I just hid Blush for the first few nights while DH offered him cow's milk in a beaker. First couple of nights he didn't take any milk, but actually went to sleep without too much trouble. Since then he's taken the milk no problem although I've started to give it to him with supper so he has it early enough.

Same sort of thing in our house. DH put the wee one in question to bed for about 4 or 5 nights in a row so there'd be no horrible moments when they would ask for milk and I'd have to say no. Worked very well both times around.

Best of luck.
