I've been reading different threads hoping my query is already answered but not quite. This is my second child. I bf my daughter for 6 months - 10 wks exclusively then combined as I went back to work. Ds is now 3 wks old and since yesterday he has been feeding all day long. Not 5 mins every hr. literally feeds from one side, Feds from other, change nappy, feeds, winds, feeds, change nappy. Up until this he had fed and happy gone into bouncer and either stayed asleep for 2 or 3 hrs or would happily coo away. Since yesterday any time I put him down, he screams. It's like he's really cross that I have taken him off the boob. I went for walk today at lunch for one hr and he slept in pram and He had about 50 mins at 5 but other than that, he's been feeding since 9 am this morning. That's 13 hrs with about 2 hrs break. I must have run out of milk at some stage surely???? I'm starting to get really down about it like I'm not doing a good job. My dd was frequent feeder but i cant remember any sessions like this. Has anyone else had this constant feeding with their Los. Incidentally at night, he'll sleep for about three hrs at a time and generally settles easy enough ( famous last words!)

Sounds like he's about to have a growth spurt. My DD was the same, at the same age. It seems never ending, but he should stop incessantly feeding sometime soon.

And, you won't run out of milk. The more he takes, the more you will make.

Really UKSky? Right, feel slightly better. How long did it last?

For about 3 or 4 days, I'm afraid. I just sat with my feet up and DD snuggled in and only got up for cups of tea and biscuits.

But DD is my first so I could just sit around.

Be thankful he's sleeping at night, my DD carried on all through the night too, but as we co-slept it wasn't too bad.

See it as a good excuse to eat lots of cake and chocolate Smile

its a growth spurt. UKSky is right.

Relax and let him feed, you have not and will not run out of milk, he is simply upping your supply. your body will catch up and it will all calm down again :)

Both of mine went through this. It feels unrelenting at the time, but as you'll have realised from DD, they grow up so fast!

Make sure you drink plenty of water/tea/hot chocolate and get enough chocolate to eat Smile

He only fed constantly from 10:30-800 pm yesterday so down 2.5 hrs from day before! Had a friend visiting a lot of that time so plenty of tea and biscuits which helped !

MrsTimeOut, have just been through this! It's so tough and really demoralising. DD got frustrated at times when let-down slowed down and I panicked about my supply.

Luckily got lots of support here and we seem to have settled down again. I know EXACTLY what you are going through, hang in there, it will get better.
