DS is 8 weeks. He pretty much feeds every 3 to 3.5 hours sometimes more in the day but good at night. Goes to bed/sleep at 7pm ish
I then feed at 10.30, 1.30ish 5am ish
I wake him for the 10.30 feed usually and give a bottle of breast milk to see if I can push the 1.30 feed to 3am on the presumption he'll take more milk. This was working and had got to one feed at 3am ish until growth spurt.
Last night was very tired so went to bed early and ditched the 10.30 feed. DS woke at 2am after being last fed at 7.30pm. So he can obviously do 5/6 hours at one stretch. How do I make this from 10.30 to 4.30 or similar so I drop a feed? Wondered about a dream feed but with my other DS this never worked, he still woke at 2am 3 hours after dream feed, do again was sleeping 6 hours but early in the night. Only when I woke him at 10.30 did he 'shift' the 6 hour stretch. Any thoughts?

I think you are expecting a bit much at 8 weeks. Mine was bottle fed and still fed 3 hourly day and night at that age.

I would have thought so too but he can obviously go for 6 hours without a feed. Hmm

How long they can 'do' will vary from one week to the next though, it's not guaranteed. Especially in such a tiny baby.

I'd just drop the 10.30pm feed, you can't realy manipluate there feeds at this age and he will change. I actualy think your doing really well at 8week's, some are still waking every 2 hours.

A dream feed never worked for us DD could go 5hours at night but only from 7pm, if I tired to wake her she either woke up to much and wouldn't go back to sleep, didn't take enough or just still woke at 2am anyway so it didn't help.
