FF and sickness in 11mo

My niece is 11mo and FF. She has had quite severe sickness since yesterday, bringing up her bottle as soon as she has drunk it. She is managing a few solids (cereal and whole milk this morning) and has taken the Diaralyte prescribed by the Dr yesterday

My mum is looking after her today and doesn't know whether to keep offering her formula as normal, as it seems that is making her more sick than the solids/water/Diaralyte.

Would it matter if an 11mo goes without formula for a few days or is it like BM and the best thing for them when they are poorly?

Also I'm still BFing my own DS and wonder if
it'd be odd to offer up my own expressed milk for her. Do you think her mum (my SIL) would take offence if I did and think I'm insensitive/a weird hippy?

To clarify - I would ask her mum first before doing anything, am not interfering, she doesn't know what to do either.

If the doctor did not say to stop her formula, then you should prob continue to give it. If you are in doubt then call the surgery and ask.

Usual advice is to keep going with normal breastfeeding or formula feeding when a baby has sickness. FF is not the 'best' thing, and does not have the anti-infection components of breastmilk, but it is not usually considered that it should be stopped.

Who knows how your SIL would react? You know her best :) It's not a weird thing to offer at all, IMO, but as we know, some people have strong feelings about this sort of thing!
