Biting 9mo at night, aargh!

DD2 has always been a fairly 'bitey' baby when I'm feeding her, and I've been yelling fucking hell doing the firm "No" and putting her down when she does it . It usually happens either at the end of a feed, or if I offer boob but she's not really interested then she'll suck for about 10 seconds to fool me then nip me. At the moment it's manageable in the day if I watch her like a hawk when I'm feeding (not very relaxing!). But the night time is getting me down. I feed lying down in bed, half asleep, and it's dark so I can't see what she's doing even if I had my eyes open. She's been teething recently which makes her bite more.

I just wanted to vent really, it really makes me want to give up when she does it. I love breastfeeding when it's going well and would be extremely upset to give up at this point, but the night-times... Thankfully she's only got two bottom teeth, but I think it's the two top ones coming through that are giving her gyp at the moment and I am very worried about the effects of the biting when she's got top teeth as well. Anyone got some words of encouragement/wisdom for me?

I feel your pain! Thankfully not literally at the moment. DS very like this but has improved lately (13 mo) - have been doing the put down and firm 'no' like yourself and also feeding poised to detach him if his latch changes to 'biting mode'. I felt that things improved a bit as he got used to each new set of teeth - hopefully they will for you too.
At night if I got very frustrated I would hand over to DH to try and settle or entertain. Do you have that option? Also used to abandon day time feeds if he did the quick suck then bite thing (very frustrating when you're set for a quick MN!).
