Template letter for returning to work and expressing?

I'm just writing to my employer to say when I'm going back and to explain that I'll still be BFing so will need time, space, etc. I have serious baby brain though and just can't word it right. Anyone got a template I can use? Or more awake so able to help me draft it?

Can you ring your HR department and ask? Is it a small employer? They're obliged to provide facilities, but might be best to ring and ask then follow up with a letter.

It's a school & I'm not expecting it to be a problem, but I was under the impression I needed to write it all formally. You're absolutely right though. I'll call the head in the morning & discuss it.

I didn't need to put it in writing but I work in an organisation with 750 staff in one building so they just let us use the first aid room, which had a fridge too, and told returning mums on their return.

. When I went back I told them on my return (nhs), but a phone call to reassure yourself should be enough. If you get back and have problems then a letter? I've never seen anywhere that it should be put in writing first, but your school is bound to have a policy for bf mums? You could phone and find out- save you the time and trouble of diving into a letter?

Hey Truth - same here! I actually wrote a letter to my head, but got so embarrassed that I deleted it. Going to head in today and speak to him instead.

Let me know how your chat goes - when are you going back to work? How old will your LO be?

Um, I wimped out and sent an email Blush

I kept it reasonably informal and chatty as I get on well with our head and I've had a very positive response. Can't beleive I was worrying about it. I think I'm putting obstacles where there are none because I'm so worried about leaving DS. LWL - I'm going back after Easter (just delayed it from the week before Easter in the hope that those three extra weeks will allow us to get DS weaned!) when LO will be about seven and a half months. I'm dreading it. I love teaching and can't wait to get back to that, but the thought of leaving LO is tearing me apart [pfb emoticon] Good luck with the meeting today. Let us know how it goes (here or on the HN thread)
