Ah poo!

TruthSweet · 11/02/2012 21:15

Those who say there is no crying over spilt milk has never dropped milk they have pumped themselves!

gemma4d · 11/02/2012 21:19

Been there, done that, sweared a lot.

100years · 11/02/2012 21:26

Oh no, I've done something similar before. Pumped 280 mls(about 9 or 10 oz) one morning for the milk bank, and left it on the side while I went out for 12 hours :( I was gutted, and quite cross with myself when I realised, which was before I'd caught the bus into town, but too late for me to turn round and put it in the fridge, so I spent the day(well a small part of the journey that morning) berating myself, then again when I got home and had to bin it.

What you need is one of these. You'll replenish you're stock in no time & look stylish all the while Hmm

Pascha · 11/02/2012 22:23

Hahahaha PMSL Grin I quite like the Snow Leopard colourway. Unfortunately they don't cater for my 30FFs Sad. I assume you have one, abigboy?

I thought it was impossible for pumping to be an even less attractive process than it is at the moment but that crosses a bovine line!

TruthSweet · 11/02/2012 22:38

I had a plain white one with DD1, but I ordered it and then started taking fenugreek...couldn't even get the thing to zip up over the supersized fenugreek norks!

100years · 11/02/2012 22:43

Wow I could have manual pumped the one while electric pumping the other except I'm a K cup so I'm not sure even XL would have fit.

Pascha · 11/02/2012 22:45

Yeessss, I would imagine Moo would be heard throughout the house if I had that on - by my husband and my son copying him...

I remember DP spilling my supply of EBM all over the mattress in the middle of the night when DS was a few days old and we were syringe feeding. It was the only milk we had and DS couldn't feed directly due to TT. I had to get up and try to express to produce anything at all to stop DS crying but I was so stressed it took hours! Poor poor DP. A simple mistake but I could have killed him.

excitedLJ · 12/02/2012 22:30

hate that! my dh was trying to be helpful a few weeks ago in the run up to a big night out- I had been expressing for days and stocking the freezer - he took some down for me late at night and popped it in the freezer...and left the freezer door open all night. poor bugger said he stood in the kitchen for at least 10 minutes in the morning trying to work out how best to break it to me!

TruthSweet · 12/02/2012 22:33

DH has done that excitedLJ. I cried and so did he Wink mainly in sympathy not because I had kneed him!

Ozziegirly · 13/02/2012 03:58

The first night home from the hospital with new DS. He had never fed from me, always refused. I had no bottles so sent DH out to buy them.

I had expressed the tiny bit of milk that you get in the early days, ready for the night feeds.

3am. Give DS a bottle. Except it's one with a "colic ring" which I hadn't fitted. Milk all over the bed. DS cried. I cried.

Expressing even more at 3am, DH feeds DS then I have to express more for the next feed as I hadn't built up a supply yet.

Cursed the "Everyone can breastfeed, you just have to really want to" woman who I had sadly believed.

Low point.
